Martin Brooks

Head of Research Impact

Martin leads the impact agenda at St Andrews, guiding the University’s impact strategy and supporting the world-leading Research Impact Team. A grizzled veteran of research and impact evaluation exercises, he is passionate about empowering researchers to achieve their visions for social change and tell the stories of their impact successes. He holds a PhD on First World War poetry and publishes research regularly.

Rees Hughes

Research Impact Officer

Rees manages Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAAs), as well as internal impact funds, driving impact potential for the University. With a PhD in Medical Anthropology and Organisational Culture, she explores systemic barriers to impact and works with academics and stakeholders to break these down.

Euan Donohue

Euan manages the financial portfolio of the Research Impact team and supports impact activity across all Schools. He uses data collection and analytics to maximise impact potential. Euan joined St Andrews in 2014 working in both Finance Operations and Research Grants Finance teams before making the move to the Research Impact team in 2019.

Ishani interviews PGRs and academics to explore their research and its impacts. She translates these interviews into posts for the Research Impact Blog, showcasing the diverse and world-leading work based in St Andrews.

Currently pursuing a degree in Social Anthropology and Sustainable Development, she is passionate about uplifting work that inspires positive change.
