Impact and Innovation Fund

This internal fund is designed to seed or amplify impact work stemming from St Andrews-based research. Created in 2016, the Impact and Innovation Fund (IIF) – originally the Knowledge Exchange and Impact Fund – has been a source of impact funding across the University. The Research Impact team encourage applications from all academic career stages and have streams for new projects, ongoing work and PhD internships. There are some questions which can help to determine if this is potentially the right impact funding stream for your research.

If you have worked through these questions and decide that you would like to apply for the IIF, the application can be found here. The application process is designed to support you to embed impact into the work effectively, rigourously and feasibly, including aspects of research culture such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion [Link] and Responsible Research and Innovation.

Before applying to the IIF, consider whether your work would be eligible for IAA funding. If it is, consider waiting for the next IAA call, or justify why your project cannot wait.

Below are overviews of the IIF and how this relates to Impact and Innovation applications

How to apply:

You will find the page for the current round of the IIF here. You will be asked to complete a two section application. Details of the two sections can be found below:
